Updated RSHE Guidance
In July the DfE released the updated RSHE guidance for schools. The changes have been broadly welcomed by the PSHE education community and they will support schools in providing children and young people with the knowledge and skills they need.
As the guidance was released just before most schools broke up for the summer I would strongly recommend enjoying your holiday and coming back to this in September.
The key thing to remember is that you do not have to implement this during the coming academic year. The guidance needs to be in place for September 2026.
Taking your time next year will ensure your school is providing the very best programme possible for your children and young people.
I am working on a range of support for schools and have already booked in some dates to deliver briefing sessions. These will be delivered through Teachers’ Courses and Resources and will be online. Sessions will be available for PSHE leaders and headteachers and governors.
Have a good summer and see you in September!
